The Cambodian Basketball League is Cambodia’s professional hoops league based in Phnom Penh. For the 2014 season, the official name is the Angkor Beer Basketball League, and it is Co-sponsored by Pepsi.
Thanks to the successful 2013 season, the CBL has become a medium to discover local talent and raise the game’s standards and profile in Cambodia.
For this 2014 season of the Cambodian Basketball League, the 10 best teams in the country will compete for the title with the season starting in July and ending in December 2014.
Over 80 games are scheduled to be played over a period of 7 months.
The players will represent over 10 nationalities (Cambodia, Philippines, China, Russia, USA, UK, Australia, France…).
The level of interest that existed in 2013 in the first National Basketball League shows there is a huge appetite for basketball in the Kingdom!

From the Phnom Penh Post: “The day-to-day affairs of the CBL will be handled by an organising committee while one of the Cambodian Basketball Federation’s functionaries will assume the role of league commissioner, according to an agreement reached earlier between the CBF and CamBasket, a group of representatives from various participating clubs.”
